I would like to reserve a programme with you but I’m unsure which programme to select! What should I do?
Don’t worry! It doesn’t matter which programme you reserve – I will tailor your programme strategy to you & your needs. Please select the programme name which most suits your circumstances & we will discuss the best plan for you at your Initial Consultation.
Do I need to come and see you in person?
No. All of my consultations are run online, using zoom. You can be sitting in the comfort of your own home or office when working with me. However, I will ask you to have your video turned on during our consultations, as this helps me to get to know you better (and I will always have my video on too!).
How many consultations will I need?
How long is a piece of string?!

Programmes start with 3 consultations (1 x initial & 2 x follow-up consultations, with check-in calls in between to see how you are getting on). For some people, this is enough to resolve their symptoms & achieve their goals.

However, this depends on you, your symptoms & your goals – many of my clients work with me for approximately 6 months, some stay with me for 1 year and then check in again when they need to.

I will usually have a better understanding of this after your second consultation.

Should I change my diet before I come to you?

No – please don’t make any changes! It’s best if you keep your diet as normal as possible before your first consultation. The quickest way for me to understand your health is for me to see exactly what you are eating and drinking and how you are feeling at your first consultation. I won’t judge you on what you eat: my sole focus is understanding and supporting your health.

Can I work with you if I’m taking HRT or prescription medications?

Yes – we can work alongside your HRT and medications: I carefully check for any potential interactions between foods or supplements with HRT and prescription medications for each of my clients.

Do you work with men?
Yes.
Do you work with children?
Yes. I generally work with children once they have reached around 7 or 8 years old; provided you feel that your child is able to communicate their symptoms with me and/or how they are feeling. I will work very slowly with your child and would ask you to be present in the consultation. Your child does nots necessarily need to be present for each consultation: however, I would like to see them for at least part of the first consultation.
What do I need to do before my initial consultation?
When you reserve your programme, I will email you confirming your reservation, setting out what you need to do. This will include completing:

  • my Nutritional Therapy Questionnaire (which helps me further understand your health history before your initial consultation)
  • my Terms of Engagement & Data Consent Form (detailing our responsibilities going forward & allowing me to save your personal, sensitive information in compliance with Data Protection Laws)
  • a food & lifestyle diary for 5 days (including 2 rest or weekend days when possible)

You fill out these forms electronically – don’t worry, it’s easy! – and submit the forms at least 1 week before your initial consultation, so that I have time to review everything beforehand.
That’s it!

Why do I need to record a food & lifestyle diary & how do I do that?
When I can see what you are eating, your daily routines, your symptoms & your sleep patterns, I can further understand your lifestyle & what might be contributing to your symptoms: this gives me a head start on understanding your health journey before you have even started your programme!

Don’t worry, it’s easy! And you don’t need to change anything you are doing to record your food & lifestyle diary!

You’ll receive a link to an electronic food diary in your Programme reservation email. Click on the link and simply enter everything you eat & drink, your waking times, going to bed times, exercise, symptoms & any other relevant information on 3 work/weekdays & 2 weekend/days!

These do not need to be consecutive days. Please choose fairly typical days & record as much information as you can, providing as much detail as possible (e.g. whether your food is home-cooked or branded, fresh, frozen, packaged etc.)

If you are not working, you can simply leave the “work” information blank, but please do not forget to record your wake, sleep, exercise & leisure patterns.

You can enter in & out of the electronic document as you need to (remember to click “save” each time). Then submit when you are ready!

How do I pay for my programme of consultations?
You will receive payment information in your Programme reservation email: your Programme Fees should be paid by bank transfer at least 48 hours before your initial consultation.

If you require a payment plan to spread the cost of your Programme, you can pay your Programme Fees in two instalments: the first instalment is due at least 48 hours before your initial consultation & the second instalment is due at least 48 hours before your first follow-up consultation.

Please note that your Programme is not confirmed until payment (or your first instalment, as appropriate) is received.

How do I book my appointments?
You will receive a link to book your initial consultation in your programme reservation email. Alternatively, you can email vh@virginiahillsnutrition.com to arrange this
Will I need to take supplements?
This very much depends on your symptoms and your situation. Sometimes I do recommend supplements, but only those that I believe will benefit you and help you reach your goal in a more targeted and quicker way and, most importantly, only if you wish to do so. I always try to keep supplement recommendations to a minimum and within your budget range, recommending good quality supplements from a recommended, online supplier. You will receive a 10% discount on any personalised supplements I recommend.
Should I try changing my routines before my initial appointment?
No – please don’t make any changes!

It’s best if you keep your routines as normal as possible before your first consultation. The quickest way for me to solve your problems is for me to see exactly what you are doing, eating or drinking at your first consultation. I won’t judge you: my sole focus is working out what’s going on & solving it once and for all.

what my clients say

Seeing Virginia was the BEST decision! She recommended testing & combined with her excellent knowledge, Virginia was able to explain why my symptoms were happening: after following her targeted advice, I have had no further problems & am so grateful. I thought my previous diet was quite healthy & wasn’t sure any changes would make such a significant difference – I cannot recommend Virginia more highly.

Claire, 49

Client

Virginia is very knowledgeable and lovely: she is easy to talk to and provides lots of advice in her sessions.

Lesley, 69, Ashford, Kent

Client

Virginia was able to pull out the key points from what I was saying and understand what my issues and concerns were in a concise manner. She then gave me advice and suggested changes that have made immediate improvements to my health and wellbeing. I am so utterly grateful and feel thoroughly relieved to have a real plan.

Caroline, 42

Client

Virginia is amazingly understanding, supportive, helpful & incredibly knowledgeable about all things related to diet, nutrition & digestion! She is extremely caring & offers very helpful advice in a way that is down to earth, sensitive, sensible & not too unrealistic either.

I would highly recommend her to anyone I know, as well as others I don’t.

Emily, 37, Netherlands

Client

You can literally say anything to Virginia – she doesn’t judge, goes at your pace, is a lot of fun and soooo knowledgeable.
